Located in an old railway warehouse in Vila Real, next to the station, in a historic building over a hundred years old, the Cais da Villa space stands out for the creativity and innovation of the project, considered by Turismo de Portugal as a point of tourist interest in the Douro and Alto Douro regions. At its heart is the glamor of dark tones, wood, mirrors and large panes of glass, combined with carefully selected, sober and avant-garde decoration. Outside, you can feel the historical weight of the building, where its original architecture prevails, remodeled according to the concept of the space. The main motivation behind gastronomy and wine tourism trips (enotourism) is to enjoy typical products and gain a deeper understanding of the gastronomic and oenological heritage of a given region. With the growth of gourmet culture and wine tourism, the Cais da Villa space, run by businessman Horácio Negrão, is dedicated to increasingly demanding connoisseurs who want to get to know the products of the Douro and Trás-os-Montes regions through unique experiences, in a space with excellent conditions and service. This space is divided into a gourmet restaurant, with capacity for 60 people, and a winehouse comprising a bar, with capacity for 20 people, and a wine cellar. In addition to the interior spaces, there is a terrace for around 100 people. Cais da Villa is a place to visit before lunch, for lunch, for dinner, to relax, for coffee or simply to end the evening.
