Description
Located in the heart of the Douro, the Miradouro D'Ouro Vivo is an infrastructural space where you can see the entire Rodo Valley that connects Santa Marta de Penaguião to the River Douro, in Peso da Régua.
There is an open-air interpretive area where you can see the Douro's most representative wine varieties, their history and information. There are also tables where you can stop for a snack and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surroundings. Combining the story of Friar João de Mansilha - mentor and creator of the first Demarcated and Regulated Region in the world, the Douro Demarcated Region - the viewpoint stands out for its uniqueness and complementarity with other spaces and facilities focused on vines and wine, thus ensuring a symbiosis between innovation and history.
