Description
The Museum of the Douro Imaginary (MIDU), which opened in January 2009, is the first of the 48 museums in the Douro Museums Network - MuD. In essence, the MIDU aims to be a space for the dissemination and preservation of all the manifestations of the Douro's traditional imagination, both in terms of inherited intangible heritage (legends, traditions, songs, novels, etc.) and in terms of utopia and the imagination of new generations.
The museum's links with landmarks of legend and tradition are intended to extend the museum's activities to the Douro region, through itineraries of visits and evocations.
