Description
In 2017, the waters of the Vilar reservoir bathing area were considered a "zero pollution" beach by the environmental association ZERO. Only another beach in the interior of the country (Castelo de Bode, in Vila de Rei, in the district of Castelo Branco) has achieved this honorable classification. The space is an excellent summer area, and its infrastructures include a support bar with an airy terrace overlooking the water mirror; shady areas; street furniture; a picnic area with a barbecue; toilets and showers; seagulls for cruising the calm waters of the River Távora and a diving platform. It is therefore ideal for family activities, picnics, birdwatching and sport fishing, among other activities. Nearby there is a campsite (and caravan site) with a swimming pool for adults and children, a sports center, a volleyball court and a bungalow. You can also walk the Rota do Távora (PR3) footpath, which starts in this park, and be amazed by the dominant green landscape that covers the surrounding land.
