Description
Located in the Serra de Montemuro, Aldeia da Anta is set on its hillside, adapting to the morphology of the terrain at an altitude of 935m. Its origin is unknown, but both its toponym and the possibility of the existence of dolmens and possibly menhirs, common in the region, may have contributed to its designation.
The existence of megalithic monuments, which have now disappeared, and the possible use of the stones to build the village's houses indicate the possibility that it was rebuilt using an earlier settlement.
