Description
The Archive - Diocesan Museum is housed in the emblematic "Casa do Poço", a manor house that belonged to the Morgado do Poço.
The manor house was acquired by the Diocese of Lamego in 1920. In 2008, after extensive restoration work, it was opened to serve as the Diocesan Museum and Archive, where various exhibitions have been held, mainly of religious art. Most of the documents held by the Diocese of Lamego are in the current Episcopal Palace and some are in the Archives-Museum, where they are gradually being transferred.
In this building, where the Definitive Archive is deposited, all the conservation and consultation facilities for visitors are gathered.
