Description
A visit to Freixo de Numão should include the archaeological museum sites located on the perimeter of the parish. Among these, the archaeological site of Prazo stands out, a site occupied for millennia from prehistoric times, the Roman era and the High Middle Ages. Also bearing traces of Romanization are the sites of Rumansil I, Colodreira and Zimbro, as well as the Calçada Romana where you can see a "ferraria" and a "mutatio". The archaeological site of Castelo Velho, where successive excavation campaigns have revealed a settlement dating back to the Copper and Bronze Ages, is also a must-see for the extraordinary landscape that can be seen from there.
