Description
The Chestnut and Chestnut Tree Space, inaugurated on June 25, 2021, is a space for the interpretation, study and appreciation of chestnuts. Its purpose is to give visibility to the chestnut from Soutos da Lapa, its producers and the remarkable gastronomic dimension that the municipality already enjoys and which is based on this element of our agriculture.
This project also aims to enhance the educational aspect and contact with the younger generations by making the Chestnut Space available to schools, which can receive guided tours to understand the life cycle of the chestnut and the chestnut tree and their economic, social and cultural importance for the people of the municipality and the region.
The space should also play a decisive role in the field of tourism, since during the fall and winter it is from here that visits to the interior of the chestnut groves, product tastings and the unparalleled journey through Seara's centuries-old chestnut forests should begin.
