Description
There are no architectural remains to identify it with the original 12th century church, which was donated by the first king of Portugal to Martinho Calvo. It stands alone in Vila Jusã and was rebuilt in the mid-18th century using the stone of another ancient church, the memory of which has been lost to the ages. Attached to the old parish residence of São Martinho there was a passal and, in its annexes, stables for storing cattle, farming tools and two-wheeled carts, which proves the commercial ecclesiastical importance of this rural church that went into decline after the French invasions and the struggles between the Liberals and the Miguelists.
