Nossa Senhora Ao Pé Da Cruz Viewpoint

Climbing the slopes of Serra do Pereiro, we head towards Senhora de Ao Pé da Cruz, the place where Sernancelhe's main religious festival is held, in honor of Senhora de Ao Pé da Cruz, which is celebrated on the third of May. The day of the patron saint is also a municipal holiday. The celebrations take place on the hill of Santa Cruz, where there is a mass, popular socializing and entertainment. The parachute jumps on the festival grounds are already part of the tradition. The good water that springs up next to the chapel doesn't leave anyone indifferent either, but it's around the granite tables, covered by the shade of the pine trees, that families gather and share the meal of the day, fulfilling a ritual that has been passed down from generation to generation.
