Description
The Favaios Bread and Wine Museum interprets the history of Favaios' muscatel wine and artisan bread, seeking to value local resources and showcase the traditions and processes associated with the production of these two products. It is housed in an 18th century building, locally known as "the work", which was part of the Leite Ribeiro family manor house. It was an unfinished building of which only the main façade remained. Currently restored and adapted into a museum, it has an annual visitation rate of around one million people.
In addition to the permanent exhibition panels, it also has a temporary exhibition room. The culmination of a visit to the museum is a fine tasting of muscatel wine.
