Description
A tradition held in the village of Cardanha, characterized by the use of lace and tin masks, the latter of which were once made by the village's tinsmiths and are now made by artisans.
Part of the tradition is also the reading of the donkey's lines through the streets of the village and the Queima do Entrudo, a sacred ritual in which a giant image of a lizard, adorned with straw and wearing a mask, is burned, signifying the punishment of sins, the purging and purification of the community.
