Description
Support transport can leave you at Miradouro do Viso, where from there you will climb to Fraga da Ermida, on a route marked by the most characteristic fauna of Marão - the goats. The trail on the municipal pedestrian trail network, the Trilho das Cabras (PR8) will provide the precise and necessary instructions to complete the route safely.
This will intersect with the best-known Senhora da Serra Trail (PR3) which culminates at the Marão geodesic landmark.
At 1413 m altitude you will have the best opportunity to sleep under a starry sky without any light pollution. It is the ideal place for astrotourism lovers.
At sunrise, take advantage of the PR3 directions and go down to the fantastic Waterfalls or visit the picturesque village of Póvoa da Serra. Your transport should be waiting for you in the village of Soutelo, where this trail culminates.
You can have breakfast in the village or stop on the return journey at the Miradouro de Paradela do Monte.

The best time to do this itinerary is from May to September.
The location of the old Observatory is perfect for stargazing, as it is also protected by the surrounding walls.
